Tony had a successful career in the mission critical IT environment industry. He was employed at Inova Health in Virginia as Director of IT Services for the previous eight years, prior to that he was Datacenter Manager at Florida Blue in Jacksonville, FL.
Tony was a man of strong faith with deep commitment and devotion to his family. Always presenting himself at his best, Tony was incredibly humble and would light up any room when he walked in. Tony enjoyed a wide variety of activities but cherished the simple things in life. He and his wife enjoyed being close to each other; whether enjoying a nice dinner out or just sitting on the beach. Tony’s passion, however, was to be present and engaged with whatever his children wanted him to participate in. He had a singular focus on having a “good” life; drama free, with a happy family surrounding him. Tony exemplified selflessness and generosity to everyone who was blessed to know him. Always willing to lend an ear and provide wisdom to anyone who asked. Such a great loss will be sorely felt by those whose lives he touched, more than simple words can express.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tonya Stewart, and his children, Sierra (Lucas), Mattie (Jeff), Hannah, Tate and Lauren. He is also survived by His mother, Dianne Blackwelder, sister, Ashley Blackwelder and sister, Amy Stewart. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Anthony Stewart.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Liberty Church of Gulf Breeze, 6006 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563 Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 10:00 am-11:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life Service, officiated at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to "Team Tony" through the American Heart Association walk in SC on November 12, 2024 are greatly appreciated.
