just found out about Frank " Woodfish" passing. He was such a dear  good friend of ours. He was such a regular at our bar, Evelyn 's Grunge! We all loved him dearly! My mama  Evelyn and sister  Evie and me Cherryl.  Will miss him alot!

Had the privilege to serve with Frank (Woodfish) while in Key West.  Made a trip to his home and visited with his Dad and we met all his friends.  Visited Yellow River.  Sat around a smoldering bucket of leaves in Southern Alabama visiting with more of his family.  He was a good friend, was always there for you.  I will miss his calls.  Prayers for his family. 

I hopefully speak for everyone at the RVAH Navy Association in expressing our condolences to all of Frank's family.

May he have fair winds and a following sea on his last great deployment into eternity.

I want to tell you about my brother. He was 1 year and 10 days younger than me , so of course we were very competitive beginning at a very young age. We loved each other very much. When he started 1st grade, I was an expert on going to school because I was in the 2nd grade. I knew what to do and I felt like he didn't, so I think that was the first time that I felt like I had to protect him. But when we got home it was right back to being competitive. When we were in 3rd and 4th grade we got a bicycle for Christmas. To Share. Red with a banana seat.Oh my we argued a lot about who's turn it was to ride. 
We had a skating race in the garage and I think I lost because I fell on my face and broke my front tooth.
I loved him so much.
He played little league baseball at Twin Hills Park in Crestview. He played short stop. Ms. Ferris ( our music teacher at school) was his coach. I really loved going to the games. They were good too.
I loved him so much.
When he got older he loved sailing. He took me with him in his little Sunfish and it was so much fun. He would later in life become a team member on a sailboat racing team in Key West, he was stationed there when he was in the Navy.
Now he is gone from me and I miss him so much
Catch the wind Woodfish, telltales straight back and sail on to your next adventure.

I remember the first time I met Woodfish  (Frank) Caywood.  He was being himself, as usual.  He asked me to go out sailing with him.  I let him know I was going to be busy for another three years.  Three years later we got married, and then he made another trip overseas.  He still went on a lot of trips, but I was with him for most of the trips then.  We had a lot of fun, saw a lot of places.  What we missed most was family and friends.  Woodfish was always good to me, family and friends.  He was my heart, and my best friend.   Bless his heart, I'm going to miss him so much.
