William “Craig” Harmon, age 72, of Cropwell, Alabama passed away comfortably surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. He was born April 7, 1949. He is survived by his three sons, Jimmy (Sharon) Harmon, Curtis (Brandi) Harmon, and Joey Harmon. He also had twelve grandchildren: Jaylene, Nina, Anya, Noah, Jahsiah, Joshua, Evelyn, Michael, Zachary, Skylier, Samuel, and Alice. William also leaves behind his younger brother Michael Harmon, his sisters Patricia Harmon Rice, and Resa Harmon Hiltbruner.
William Craig Harmon is a Veteran. For his service, he received numerous personal awards and Unit citations. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology, then commissioned in the United States Navy where he entered into flight training and becoming a Sikorsky SH-3 helicopter pilot. Served over 20 years of faithful active service deploying on numerous ships and squadrons in support of national tasking.
Later, he earned his Realtor license and worked Real Estate with his brother in El Paso, Texas and then in Alabama. He also certified to work as a X-Ray Technician focusing on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
William Craig Harmon lived a full life of love and travel. He enjoyed playing guitar and spending time with his kids and grandkids. His life was filled with love and friendships.
Kilgroe Funeral Home will host services starting Monday at 3 pm. Following the graveside services with military honors, William’s family and friends will inter him in their family plot at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
Craig was a Loving Brother, Father, Shipmate, and Grandfather!
