Greta Elaine Gregory, age 80, of Odenville, Alabama went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 3, 2022. Greta was born to Charles and Annetta Kooiman Walhof in California on May 10, 1941.
After graduating high school, Greta put herself through school and pursued a career as a registered nurse and cared for thousands of patients in the hospital, nursing home and school setting. When she wasn’t caring for others, she spent her time gardening and doting on the many pets she rescued over the years.
Greta is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Kenneth C. Gregory, her children Deborah A. Gregory (Craig Lockhart) and Kenneth W. Gregory (Darlene Raughton), brothers John Walhof (Lucy) and Pete Walhof, and her four-legged fur baby, Catfish.
Greta was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Annetta Kooiman Walhof.
Visitation for Greta will be held Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kilgroe Leeds Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will take place Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Kilgroe Leeds Funeral Home with internment to follow at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
