Mr. Coshatt retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service. He served in Japan during the occupation of Japan, in the Korean War and also in Vietnam. During his army career he received numerous medals and commendations. While in Vietnam he was awarded the bronze star medal. After retiring from the army, Mr. Coshatt worked for Page Aircraft at Fort Rucker, Alabama and as a mail carrier at Daleville, Alabama. After moving back to the Pell City area he worked for the Alabama Beverage Control Board. He was a member of National Association of Uniform Services and Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Coshatt is survived by his wife: Betty Jean (Kiker) Coshatt; granddaughter: Genia Borsari; great grandchildren: Devina Barnett and Nicholas Russ. He was preceded in death by his son: Daniel Coshatt; parents: Walter and Elzie Coshatt; sister: Louise Baswell; and brothers: Joe, Layton, Edward, Royce and Ralph Coshatt.
A visitation for Mr. Coshatt will be Sunday, September 4, 2022, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm with a celebration of life funeral service to follow. An interment will occur after the service at St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers Mr. Coshatt requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
