PELL CITY – Funeral Service for Betty J. Compton, age 83, will be Friday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Clair Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from Noon to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Compton passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Pat Williams and Virginia Roberts. She is a lifelong member of Pell City Bible Methodist Church. Longtime childcare provider at Wee Wonderland Daycare and Ms Gingers Daycare.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, R.A. Compton; daughter, Pam (Gary) Kendrick; sons, Greg (Pam) Compton, Keith (Linda) Compton; 6 grandchildren, Rory Kendrick, Josh (Leslie) Kendrick, Matt (Kim) Compton, Kenny (Elena) Compton, Katie (Seth) Brasher, Jacob Compton; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Frankie Simpkins, Jr.
