William “Bill” Felton Chilton, age 86, was born January 17, 1936 and went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. He was a resident of Birmingham, Alabama and a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church.
Bill was born and raised in Anniston, Alabama. He went on to graduate from Howard College and Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He served as pastor of Lincoln Baptist Church in Lincoln, Alabama and then in Evreux, France where he pastored a military church. He also pastored at Bynum Baptist Church, MeadowBrook Baptist Church in Gadsden, Alabama and First Baptist Church of Kettering in Kettering, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne S. Chilton and his brother, Alfred Lee Chilton. Bill is survived by his son, Mark William Chilton (Susan); daughter, Deborah Chilton McWaters (Cas); and daughter, Elisabeth Chilton Hethcox (Joel); sister, Barbara Hazard (Don); grandchildren, Ben Chilton (Katie), Jenni Chilton, Katie Chilton, Hanley McWaters, Heath McWaters, Emily Hethcox and Will Hethcox.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM with a visitation at 10:00 AM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Birmingham, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Shades Mountain Baptist Church “Make Jesus Known” Missions Fund or the charity of your choice.
