Paula Eugenie Clark Klein, age 64 long time resident of Birmingham, Alabama but recently residing in Lakeland, Florida to be near her grandchildren, went home to Jesus on March 31, 2024. She was born in Hillsboro, Illinois, and grew up in Frankfort, Kentucky. Paula graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. degree in Nursing. She worked at the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital where she met Stephen Robert Klein. They were married and raised four wonderful children. Paula was an active member of Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church. Her passions were faith, family, and friends. She had a rare ability to perceive others deeply and speak truth in love in their life. Her friendships are deep, lasting, and life-giving. She loved being a mom and Lolly (grandmom). Both she and her grandchildren would light up every time they saw one another. She loved the beauty of God's creation and, strove to create beauty in sewing and decorating (even rearranging an entire room by herself in one day). And her curiosity led her to often wonder what God is up to? Especially as she courageously battled her disease. She is survived by her husband Stephen and children, Elizabeth Klein McKinley, David Klein (Anne Laure), Julia Klein Harrell (William), Sawyer Klein (Sara Beth) also by her grandchildren, Brewer McKinley, Holton Harrell, David McKinley, Wells Harrell, John Owen Harrell, and Andrew Klein; sisters, Dorsey Walker Ochoa, and Ginnie Beth Robinson.
There will be a celebration of Paula's life on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church, Birmingham, AL.
In lieu of flowers please consider giving either to Sarcoma Research at Moffitt Cancer Center Tampa, Florida or to the Women’s Ministry at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church Birmingham, Alabama.
