Patsy was born in Houma, LA and lived in the New Orleans area for 75 years until she moved to Birmingham 12 years ago to live near family. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Dominican High School and Soule Business College.
In New Orleans, Patsy was a co-owner of the Caboose Soup & Salad Restaurant for many years. She was a long-time member of the St. Clement of Rome Church, and was active in the Elenian Club. She helped start the Courtland Heights Planters Club and served as its president in 1978 and 1979.
After moving to Birmingham, Patsy became a parishioner at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Basile Terranova; her parents, Edna and Emanuel Hidalgo; and one sister, Wanda Neyrey. Survivors include Patsy's son, John Terranova of Marrietta, GA; her daughter, Deana T. Bermudez of Birmingham; daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Terranova; son-in-law, Tony Bermudez; four grandchildren, Michael Bermudez, Jessica Bermudez, Tim Terranova, and Jason Terranova; two granddaughters-in-law, Shaheen Bermudez and Amanda Terranova; and three great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Simone Bermudez, and Carla Terranova.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, New Orleans, immediately followed by the 2 p.m. service in the funeral home's chapel. Entombment will be at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery & Mausoleum.
