Margie spent her childhood in Valley, Alabama as a member of a close knit textile community. Her family was known for hard work, integrity, and always there to help! She married Bobby H. Reynolds and moved to the Birmingham, Alabama area, where she raised her family in Midfield, Alabama.
Margie's successful career with Liberty National Life Insurance Company was highlighted by her accession to one of the company's few female executives. She was routinely recognized for her achievements and dedication.
After her retirement from Liberty National, Margie settled in Alabaster. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, cooking, and lake activities. She was a veracious reader, enjoyed needlepoint, and was a loving wife and mother. She was a woman of conviction, strong work ethic, and welcoming demeanor. Her light shined brightly for Jesus, and she was welcomed into His Kingdom!
Margie was preceded in death by Bobby, her husband of 72 years; her father, Ralph Thompson; her mother, Voncile Hudson Thompson; and two brothers, Wayne and Hudson Thompson.
Survivors include Margie's two children, Bruce (Martha) Reynolds of Dallas, Texas, and Cathy (Skip) McKay of Alabaster; grandchildren, Keith Shoemaker (Chris), Blake (Jessie) Reynolds, Brad (Katie) Allred, Barrett (Taylor) Reynolds, Lacy (Jody) Sheehan, and Michael (Mary) McKay; and several great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama from 10-11 a.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance for Margie at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124.
