Linda Lou Griffin (née Sir Louis) of Pelham, AL went home to be with her Heavenly Father peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, October 22 at the age of 81. Born on September 13, 1941 in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Selma Sirlouis. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, "Nana" and beloved friend to so many.
Linda was a graduate of Buchtel High School in 1959 in Akron, Ohio. It was there in Akron where she met and in 1960 married her sweetheart, Don, and their first child, Lori Michelle, was born. In 1965, the little family moved to Etowah County in Alabama to be closer to her husband's family. It was there where their family grew with the addition of a son and another daughter, Gregory Jacque and Amber Juliette. In 1975, a job transfer led the family to ultimately settle in Pelham, AL.
Ms. Griffin enjoyed a secretarial career with Lucent Technologies (formally AT&T and Western Electric) up until a semi-retirement secretarial position with the Alabaster Police Department.
Linda was a woman of great faith. She was kind, forgiving and gentle. She was silly, had a flair for writing and was amazing with numbers. She loved the time spent with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed the time with her many precious friends and will be so greatly missed by so many.
Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Don Tracy Griffin.
