Kerry was born on June 11, 1974, to Paul and Janet Smith in Birmingham, AL. He attended Mountain Brook schools through high school and was one of the original participants of the Exceptional Foundation, a program initially founded to serve adults with special needs. He was also the inspiration behind the founding of the Exceptional Foundation of Atlanta. Kerry loved swimming, playing putt putt golf, and going to the movies. Most of all he loved playing his video games.
Kerry was preceded in death by his father, Paul; his grandparents, (Meg and Bob Milford and Gertrude and Andrew Smith), who were anxiously awaiting his arrival in heaven. He is survived by his mother, Janet (Larry); brother, Mark (Anna Mary); uncle, Andy (Beverly), and cousin, Tammi (Evan). Although he loved his immediate family very much, he was arguably happiest when surrounded by his two nieces, Mary Hampton and Maddie, who loved him unconditionally.
Kerry touched everyone he met with his unconditional love, infectious smile, and larger than life hugs. His mom always called him her special Angel and he truly was a gift from God and a blessing to all.
Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at Southern Heritage Funeral Home (475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124) from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm cst. There will be a Celebration of Life memorial service immediately following the visitation.
