"Kitty" graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama. She married George Earnest "Bud" Watts, Jr. on December 27, 1957. They enjoyed 52 beautiful years together until separated by his passing on July 29, 2009.
Kathryn enjoyed raising hers and Bud's three children: Steven, Lisha, and Robert. Kathryn was a devoted wife, mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. One of her most important facets of life was her family.
Kathryn enjoyed spending time on Lake Martin as well as at Orange Beach. She was able to travel and explore the world, in addition to her active memberships at Greystone Country Club and Argo Christian Fellowship Church. She was a social butterfly and never met a stranger on her life's journey - her smile could brighten any room!
Kathryn is survived by her loving partner of the past six years, Harold Oliver LeCroy; her brother, John David Salter; her son, Steven D. Watts (Joice), their son Mitchell Watts (Ashley) and great-grandchildren Steven, Charlotte, and John Daniel, and their daughter Jessica Watts Smelcer (Danny) and great-granddaughters Jillian, Janelle, and Johanna; Kathryn's daughter, Lisha Watts Maxwell (Barry) and their children Kathryn (Gabriel Osburn), Kevin, and Kyle Maxwell; and Kathryn's son, George Robert Watts (Peyton) and their children, George Robert Watts Jr. (Molly), Paulina Watts Haskins (Robby), Bonnie Joan Watts Painter (Dawson), and Claire Elizabeth Watts.
In addition to her husband George, Kathryn was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Pearson Salter Jr, William Young Salter, Glenn French Salter, and Eloise Salter Brasseale.
Until meeting Harold, Kathryn said that she didn't know you could have two loves in life: God blessed her with 52 wonderful years with George and six wonderful years with Harold. Kathryn and Harold enjoyed traveling to the beach and lake, and simply watching sunsets and hummingbirds from their back porch. She was a very loving, caring, and beautiful woman inside and out, and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama from 10-11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage.
