Julanne Kaye Vail Troha, 77, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was born in 1945 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated from Pickens County High school and went on to graduate from the University of Alabama. Following graduation from the University she married John M. Troha and worked as a teacher for several years. She and John were married for 46 years before his passing in 2012.
Julie enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling and being with her friends, especially at the beach. She is survived by her sons, Brad (Jenny), of Atlanta, Georgia and Jeff (Lisa), of Hoover, Alabama. She has two grandchildren, Emma and Jack, that she adored, and her brother, Lee Vail along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, L.D. and Annie Grace Vail, and her husband, John Troha.
Julie was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church for over 45 years, and a long-time volunteer and supporter of the Allan Cott School for Autism. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Glenwood, home of the Allan Cott School for Autism (www. Glenwood.org).
