John M. Carpenter passed away at 80 years of age on September 7, 2022. He is survived by his wife of almost 53 years Shirley Meacham Carpenter; daughter Johnnie Elaine Carpenter Crittenden (David) of Homewood, AL; grandsons Joey and William Crittenden. He was preceded in death by his parents J. R. and Marius Webb Carpenter; brother Dan R. Carpenter. He was born in Athens, TN and graduated from West End High School. He worked at Alabama Power, Sears, and Woodcraft. He was a longtime member
of the First Baptist Church Pelham. Please consider a donation to FBC Pelham in lieu of flowers. A memorial service will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home located in Pelham, AL on Friday 9/23/ 2022. Visitation starts at 3:30 following a service at 4:00.
