John T. Burke, Jr., 84, of Alabaster, AL passed away on March 23, 2020. He was born in Birmingham, AL on December 3, 1935. He attended John Carrol and West End High School before joining the US Marine Corps in 1953 where he served for four years and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was married to Betty Joan Burke on January 24, 1959.
John had a career in transportation with several trucking companies. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club, and had a passion for family, golf, fishing, and the Marine Corps.
He is survived by sons John T. Burke III, David Scott Burke, Daniel Joseph Burke, and Chuck Burke; grandchildren Krystal Allemand, Kyle Burke, Conner Burke, Dylan Burke, Nolen Burke, and Cade Burke; great-grandchildren Brayden Brantley, Cade Kelley, Decker Burke, Ava-Burkeley Allemand; and brother Patrick Joseph Burke.
A private committal will be held at 10:15 am on March 26, 2020 at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
