James Sheffield

James Forrest Sheffield, 66, of Hoover, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 19, 2019. He was born to Lawrence Brown and Lyda Rea Sheffield, Jr. on April 13, 1953. He was passionate about his children, grandchildren, and sports. He graduated from Ramsey High school where he played baseball, and then went on to play at both UAB and The University of Montevallo. He excelled in sales and was blessed to work at Compass Fire and Sprinkler and thought of his co-workers like family. James is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Lyda Rea Sheffield Jr.; step mom Nancy Ruth Jordan Bachofer; brother Lawrence Brown Sheffield III and sister Regina Kay Sheffield. He is survived by the mother of his children, Deborah Harris Sheffield; his children Forrest Bradford Sheffield (Bethany) and Jennifer Sheffield Chittum (Kirk); grandchildren Avery Faye and Landon Bradford Sheffield and Harper Grace Chittum; brothers Ralph Wendell Sheffield (Elizabeth) and Douglas Wayne Sheffield (Carolyn); step brothers Tully Richmond Burch III (Riza) and Clem Douglas Burch (Angela); his nieces and nephews Katie (Davy), Diana (Larry), Lawrence IV (Frances), Ryan, Rachael, Hope, Lori (James), David, Katherine (Victor), Melanie (Jacobe), Will, Jillian, Nicholas (Mallory) and Amanda (Derek); and great nieces and nephews Piper, Pearson, Gray, Timothy, Colton, Drew, Ridge and Demi.

Visitation will be Saturday May 25, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with funeral beginning at 12:00 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside will immediately follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
