James retired from Golden Flake. He was employed for several years at Advance Auto Parts in Pelham, Alabama. He was a life-long member at Kingwood Assembly of God Church in Alabaster, and was a current member of New Life Assembly in Pell City, Alabama. He loved to fish and spend time with his family and grandkids.
James was preceded in death by his father and mother, Earl and Pearl Brown; one son, Miles Timothy Brown; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include James’ wife, Betty Brown; three daughters, Bambi Smith (Carle), Cathy Teets (Steve), and Tamara Brown (Beverly); one sister, Shirley Porter (Otis); eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. A Celebration of James’ Life will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
