Elizabeth Averett Pate’s desire to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, was answered in the early morning hours on March 23, 2023, when He took her to her Heavenly Home. We know she is rejoicing to be free of the pain and suffering she has experienced these last several years, and to be singing with the Heavenly Choir.
Her desire in this life was to bring honor and glory to her Lord Jesus Christ and to lead others to Him.
Liz is a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church (PCA). She witnessed to everyone she met and many have come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. She has taught the Bible for many years to ladies and a number of them have told us they learned so much and that she was the best Bible teacher they had ever had. She was a real prayer warrior. Elizabeth has been on mission trips to five continents plus several Caribbean islands where she taught ladies Bible Studies and sang in the evangelistic services.
She loved singing, teaching the Bible, and playing Tennis, and she was good in all of them. Liz has sung the National Anthem or God Bless America in several international conventions where the speakers were President George H. W. Bush, Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and others like them. Liz sang in the Alabama Symphony Chorale for forty-two years and for 10 years sang the National Anthem at the Three-Year-Old Grand Championship night at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration where 15,000 might be in attendance.
