Doris Stewart Tucker

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Thelmer Stewart and Bernice Poole Stewart, and her husband Bobby Tucker. She is survived by her loving brother, G.T. Stewart of Montgomery, AL, nephew Ricky Stewart (Karen) of Chelsea, AL, niece Cindy Stewart Jones (Billy) of Luverne, AL, great nieces Shannon Hodges (Joshua), Megan Gibson (Lamar), and Mallory Jones, three great-great nephews and a great-great niece. In addition, she leaves behind her cousin and close friend Harriet Scott, and her dear friends Sara Sargent and her husband Dennis.

She was a member of Riverchase Church of Christ, taught English for many years at Bottinfield Junior High (now Minor Middle School), was an avid reader, and loved to travel, visiting many countries during her lifetime. She also loved gardening and enjoyed the beauty of the many flowers she planted through the years. In addition, she loved baking and often baked desserts to give to her neighbors and friends. She had a sincere devotion to animals and owned many loving and faithful toy poodles and Pomeranians through the years.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 17th at 1:00 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. with pastor Lamar Gibson officiating.
