Donna was born in Birmingham, Alabama on August 14, 1950, to Mildred and David R Higdon. After graduating from Ensley High School, she attended the University of Alabama and graduated with the Bachelor's Degree in Education and received her Master's Degree from Samford University.
Donna was married to Bill Jones on August 29, 1970. She was an educator for over 25 years and spent her tenure in the Homewood, Alabama Schools System. She was a member of Bluff Park United Methodist Church and her passions were her family, dogs, flowers, decorating, fashion, and antiques.
Donna is survived by her husband, Bill; her children, Heather Jones Skaggs (Greg) and Hunter Jones (Meg); and her grandchildren, Charlotte Skaggs (3), Jaxon Jones (7), and Britt Jones (7 months).
Funeral arrangements will be Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Bluff Park United Methodist Church in Hoover. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with A Celebration Service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.
