“Gayle” was known for her generous heart and serving others in all aspects of life. Her love for Christ was something she tried to share with everyone she encountered. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and had a passion for sharing the Gospel. She was a very hard worker and had many professional achievements as a result. Gayle was a lifelong nurse for 44 years, her greatest accomplishment being her establishing the PICC nursing program at UAB hospital. Throughout her career, she touched many lives and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She was well-known throughout the UAB system and was greatly missed upon her retirement in 2015. Gayle, “Gee Gee,” was a loving mother of two and grandmother of three. She was always there for her children and put them first. She was the matriarch after her parents’ passing and cherished family time and gatherings. She will be missed by so many, but we remain hopeful that we will see her again soon. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
