Betty was a big Alabama and New Orleans Saints football fan. She loved her family intensely. All who knew her remember her sweet and kind disposition. She was an inspirational to us all. She loved to travel.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, Ellis John Whitaker and Elena Cruz Duarte; husband, Norman Bourque; and second husband, Bob Heald.
Survivors include Betty's son, Camille Bourque (Evon); daughter, Lissette Bourque; step-sons, David Heald (Sue) and Steve Heald (Dana); grandchildren, Christina Fleming (Brandon), Adam Cameron (Shea); great-grandchildren, Cameron Gray, Alexa Cameron, and Kadynce Cameron; two step-great-grandchildren, Caleb and Makayla Fleming; brother, Ellis Whitaker; and sisters, Helen Whitaker and Catherine Whitaker Hyndman.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL, 35124. A Celebration of Betty's Life will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Chapel. A private burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
