Faye was born on January 7, 1935, in Jemison, Alabama to the late Joseph Ellis Crowson and Mae Ileyne Queen Crowson. Having three older brothers, she was welcomed as the first girl in the family.

In later years, she traveled many times with her sisters up to the mountains, down to the beach, on road trips, and on the occasional cruise. She was the matriarch of the family, always helping each one. She also volunteered at Earthly Treasures.
Preceding Faye in death are her children, Martha Truitt (Woody) and Billy Wayne Lucas; her brothers, Charles E. Crowson; Marion Thomas Crowson; Edgar Lee Crowson (Peggy); Joe Franklin Crowson (Flora); and her sisters, Doris Marie Carter, and Betty Jo Crowson.

Backes of Colorado; Wanda Holcomb (Doug) of Jemison, AL; Jerry Crowson of Oregon; and Linda McKinney (Jim) of Calera, AL.
