

Born February 12, 1932 in West Salem, Wisconsin to William Paul and Nellie (Peterson) Wieburg, she married Richard Wayne Stewart on July 26, 1951 in Pekin. He died December of 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Evelyn Montgomery and Wilma Bearden and two brothers, Clarence Bolstad and Bill Wieburg.
Surviving are two sons, Richard and Allen Stewart, both of Pekin; two sisters, Francis Castellani and Diane (Roy) Robbins, both of Pekin; one brother, Donald (Diana) Wieburg of Florida; one sister-in-law, Helen (Clarence) Bolstad of Sparta and many nieces and nephews that she treated as her own.
She was a graduate of Pekin Community High School and was a member of the Pekin Loyal Order of Moose.
A homemaker, Thelma was a loving wife and mother. She had worked at the B&F and Pekin Times. She also owned and operated Stewart’s Grocery in Pekin during the 1970’s with her husband.
Thelma was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and enjoyed gardening, sitting on her porch, spending time with her family, traveling, reading her Bible, watching Lawrence Welk, and collecting Mickey Mouse and Elvis.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Pekin.
Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be an hour prior to the services. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
