Born February 22, 1951 in Ottawa to Forrest and Margie (Thumm) Allen, he married Patricia Fisher on September 2, 2006 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Morgan (Jim) McDonald of Littleton; three grandchildren, Samuel (Johanna) Hetrick, Elijah Norton and Mark Norton; one sister, Jeanne Thrush of Ottawa; two brothers, Rick (Pam) Allen of Peoria and Jim (Lola) Allen of Ranchos De Taos, New Mexico; two nieces; four nephews and two sisters-in-law, Vicky Fisher and Debbie Fisher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild.
A graduate of Marquette High School in Ottawa, he was also a graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. He later received his Master’s Degree in Computer Science.
Terry taught computer programming at Spoon River College for about 10 years. He then worked for AFNI in Bloomington for more than 10 years, retiring in 2009.
He loved nature and enjoyed fishing and camping, especially with his brother, Rick. Terry also enjoyed listening to music and was a collector of vinyl records from various genres.
He was of the Catholic faith and grew in his relationship with the Lord later in life.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
