Even though I only knew Rob for a short stint in college, I do have some great memories with him! We both had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed hanging out together.  One memory that has always stuck in my head is the weekend we made "The Mix Tape".  We rented an audio mixer and used two record players to make not one, but I believe two mix tapes or so-called dance mixes.  Songs by Madonna, Prince, perhaps MC Hammer and many others we mixed together in a non-stop party mix.  To this day I'm not sure what we had intended to do with the mix...because neither of us were that big on dancing.  I suppose it was simply fun to experiment with the audio equipment and the challenge to blend the songs together in a ear pleasing way.  I still have the tapes and I will listen to them again one day.  Perhaps sooner than later.  Though it's been so long you were both good friends and I cherish the times we had back in those "good ol'e days".

I don't know if you remember me, but I worked with Rob in Engineering at Hallmark almost 22 years ago. I'm sorry to hear about Rob's passing, I just saw the obit today. I probably wouldn't have been  able to attend the services because I was sick last week. I'll always remember Rob as a very quiet person but someone who had a great sense of humor. I enjoyed the time I had working with him. Karen, I want to express my  sincerest sympathies.

   Words can’t express my sorrow. Rob was such a fun guy. I wish I could be there for the visitation and funeral, but it’s not possible. Just know that Rob was, and you are, deeply loved.

Rob was a great colleague and friend. I enjoyed working with him over the last twenty-five years, and I will miss our epic phone conversations, the funny greetings we would exchange with each other, lunches at Pub II, and our shared interest in The Andy Griffith Show, among many things. He was smart, kind, and considerate, and had a great sense of humor and I will greatly miss him.

So many memories of time spent with Rob. In high school, I was always impressed with his natural athletic abilities. Not only was he the fastest guy in the school, but he could have legit been a star QB or pitcher if he wanted to. I remember at Alpine Festival he threw a 95mph fastball clocked by the radar gun. After college when we would hang out, we always seemed to turn everything into a competition. Fishing together would turn into a one upsmanship challenge. We would regularly hijack my toddler's toys and devise games while Karen and Debbie talked.  We spent a whole evening trying to land beanie babies on a moving ceiling fans for points one night. My most memorable defeat was an outdoor ping pong game where I smashed a lob so hard that the ball hit the table and flew in the air behind him about 10 yards...he turned around and sprinted for it, hitting an over the shoulder no look shot that came back and just nicked the table, not giving me a chance for a return. He won the game on that point. He was always better, faster, more athletic than me.  I didn't think we would be saying goodbye so soon, but I should have expected that he would finish this life before me...he was always faster. See you at the finish line Rob.

Late 60s. We had a lot of fun playing in those snow piles at the end of the street.

I met Rob in the early 80's as we were both involved in Campus Life.  We went to different high schools but got to know each other through ski trips, bike trips and other events.  When he was at ISU a whole bunch of his friends came up for a weekend to see him run in a meet.  Rob was a star athlete at a high level but also a very down to earth humble person.  I lost track of him for a few years but was very honored to receive an invitation to and be able to attend his wedding. I've only seen him sporadically since then and have mostly kept up with him through social media.  When I think back on my memories with Rob, I think of his kindness, his sense of humor and what a good friend he was to me.  I will miss him.

I worked with Rob nearly 30 years. The last 15 years is when I really got to know him and become great friends with him. He was an awesome, thoughtful, caring and very funny guy that I could talk to about anything. He was like a big brother to me and I will miss him very much. My heart and prayers go out to Karen , his mom and family. I am very happy to know that he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus.

I had both the honor and pleasure to run with Rob at LZHS and WOW he could cruise a 400/440!  There never was a nicer guy than Rob and so fun to be with.  We sure had some great teammates, too! 
 Surely my Dad will take him fishing in Heaven!
