Richard Lee Telander

Born April 4, 1944 in Princeville to Frederick Glenn and Edith Marie (McNaught) Telander, he married Lynda F. Huffman on July 9, 1967 in Princeville. He later married Rhonda Sue Graham on July 17, 2006 in Groveland. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Andrew (Jessica) Telander of Belvidere and Neil (Tina) Telander of North Liberty, Iowa; one daughter, Susan Evans of Galesburg; one step-son, Jeff Graham of Pekin; five grandchildren, Kelby Telander, Carson Telander, Molly Telander, Kallen Evans and Tinly Evans; one step-granddaughter, Heidi Parr; seven great-grandchildren; one niece, Beth Telander; one nephew, Mark Telander and one cousin, Janice (Gary) Strait.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Brian Telander; and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Telander.

Rick was a life insurance and annuity broker for 55 years. He was very involved with his family and a sports enthusiast, playing basketball, football, baseball and track. He was also very active in his ministry at the First United Methodist Church of Princeville as well as the Pekin First United Methodist Church prison ministry.

His funeral will be at 5 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Dwight Winnett will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral on Monday. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
