Born June 1, 1949 in Pekin, he was the son of Pete and Stellamae (Jones) Simon, Jr. His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Lindsay Marie Simon of Pekin; two grandchildren, Travis and Faith, whom Pete affectionately called Pipsqueak and P-nut and a step-daughter, Amy Crowe of Pekin, who helped care for him. He also leaves his faithful companion, Bella, which was his pit-bull.
He was a retired member of Teamsters & Chauffeurs Union Local 627 in Peoria. Pete spent most of his working years with R.A. Cullinan and Son in Tremont.
He had attended Bethel Baptist Church in Pekin.
Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. No services or visitation are planned.
