Mary Ann Magner

Born July 21, 1938 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to George and Maria “Mary” (Hackenbuchner) Schacherbauer, she married Richard L. Magner on June 16, 1956 in Pekin. He died March 7, 1998 in Norristown, Pennsylvania. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard L. Magner on January 24, 2020 and three brothers.

Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia (Matt) Meyer of Town & Country, Missouri and Jodi Jones of Fort Myers, Florida; six grandchildren, Morgan Magner of Rocklin, California, Alyssa Meyer of Town & Country, Chase Jones of Fort Myers, Austin Meyer of Town & Country, Casey Jones and Paige Jones, both of Fort Myers and many nieces and nephews.

A 1956 graduate of Pekin Community High School, Mary Ann worked for Creed’s Seafood & Steaks in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania for 22 years as their office manager.

Her hobbies included playing Bingo and card games, going to the movies and dinner theaters, taking cruises and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a beloved mother and devoted friend who was loved by all that knew her.

Mary Ann was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.

Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held one half-hour before the Mass at the church. Burial will be at Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
