Born January 8, 1932 in Forest City to Walter and Margaret (Woodley) Null, he married Carmen Marie Lynch on August 27, 1955 in Varina, Iowa. She died October 26, 2017 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Null; nine brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Marla (Blake) Brady of Tampa, Florida and Ronda Null of Pekin; two grandchildren, Blake (Yen) Brady, II of Oldsmar, Florida and Nicole Brady of Summerville, South Carolina; seven great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, London, Aspen, Milan, Anna, Zack and Christian; two brothers, Richard Null and Raymond Null, both of Pekin and his sister-in-law, Betty Sego of Pekin.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.
Marlyn worked for Broaderick and Bascom Rope Company for 30 years. He then worked for Sherex Chemical in Mapleton for 13 years, retiring in 1994 as a chemical reactor operator.
Marlyn was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
His funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will be the celebrant. Visitation will be from noon to 12:45 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, with military rites accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
