Born September 21, 1938 in Peoria to Benny and Bruna (Agnoletti) Verardo, he married Beverly Garrett on November 22, 1959 in Glasford. She died May 11, 2007 in Glasford. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his significant other, Betty Maccanelli of Farmington; three sons, Michael (Sheri) Verardo and Gary (Trish) Verardo, both of Glasford and Steve Verardo of Canton; five grandchildren, Nick (Kelly) Verardo, Bret (Kody) Verardo, Trey (Jessica) Verardo, Tailia (Corey) Hammon and Tyler (Tessa) Verardo and 15 great-grandchildren.
Larry was a 52 year member of the Plasters’ & Cement Masons’ Local 18 in Peoria, where he worked for 31 years before retiring in 2002.
He was also a longtime member of Farmington Moose Lodge 1571 and a charter member of Hiram Walker Rod & Gun Club in Farmington.
Larry enjoyed fishing, bocci ball games, gardening and spending time with his family and friends at the Rod and Gun Club. He was a craftsman of concrete, terrazzo, and tile work. He thoroughly enjoyed working on concrete projects with his sons and grandsons.
He was a longtime member of Living Hope Community Church in Bartonville.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Jerry Trecek will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.
