Born October 6, 1955 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Clarence “Clark” Smith and Geraldine “Gerri” (Srnec) Thomas, he married Donna “Renee” Eubanks on June 17, 1995 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving is one son, Darryl “DJ” (Morgan) Smith of Marquette Heights; two grandchildren, Aubrey and Sage Smith, both of Marquette Heights; one sister, Kathleen “Kathy” (Keith) Ely of Knoxville, Tennessee and two nieces, Talena Michels of Pekin and Karrie Ely of Knoxville, Tennessee.
His parents preceded him in death.
His granddaughters were the center of his life and they loved their Gpop more than anything. He was an amazing husband, incredible father, and the best Uncle Kev. He gave all his love to his family and friends.
Boom's passions were golfing, live music, sports, and spending time with his family and friends. When you walked in the house, he always had your favorite drink, shared his booming laugh, and was always ready to do a little dance. The next time you look up in the sunny sky, listen for his "Booyah" or "Booooo" when he pops that bottle.
Kevin took over the family business of more than 40 years, AC Tax Service. He never knew a stranger. People came in as a client and left as friends.
A gathering celebrating Kevin’s life will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at Schooner’s, 630 West Jackson Street in Morton. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Cancer Care Foundation, 8940 North Woodsage Road, Peoria, Illinois 61615.
