Born May 5, 1924 in Cincinnati Township, Tazewell County to Carl A. and Garnet (Grissom) Hoerr, he married Grace A. Hutton on July 24, 1947 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Richard L. (Sue) Hoerr of Casa Grande, Arizona; two grandchildren, Dr. Nathan Adam (Diana) Hoerr of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Damon Andrew (Kate) Hoerr of Portland, Oregon and two great-grandchildren, Kali and Hayden Hoerr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
He was a World War II Navy veteran.
Kenny retired from Caterpillar, Inc in 1986 after 15 years of service at the Morton Parts Facility. He previously worked 24 years at Standard Brands in Pekin until its closing as a foreman.
He was a member of St. John's (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. Kenny enjoyed bowling, gardening and fishing.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2005at his church. The Rev. Thomas R. Wenndt and DCE William Krueger will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.Wednesday, December 21, 2005at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, and also 30 minutes before services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
