Born August 8, 1942 in Chandlerville to Wilmer and Mertis Marie (Pherigo) Nall, she married Charles Edward “Chuck” Forbis on August 9, 1964 in Pekin. He died November 14, 2013 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her
parents; one brother, Gary Nall; and one sister, Melody Livengood.
Surviving are one son, Chris (Donna) Forbis of Pekin; and three grandsons, Brandon Forbis, Dakota Forbis, and Richard Forbis, all of Pekin.
Julia’s life was devoted to her family and helping others. She was the number one fan of her son and grandsons, attending every game, performance, or extra-curricular activity they were part of. She was always the first to come to the aid of her family and friends when needed, and gave many years of her own life caring for her parents, in-laws, and her sister prior to their deaths.
Julia loved flowers and anything to do with them. She was an avid gardener and one of her proudest moments was the year her yard was featured on the Pekin Garden Club Flower Walk. In addition to real flowers, she also worked extensively with silk flowers, operating Flowers of Love by Julia out of her home, creating custom wedding flowers, centerpieces and wreaths. She and Chuck often had booths at many area festivals.
She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Dr. Timothy Najpaver will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
