Born August 13, 1921 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Floyd N. and Betty Burch Smith, she married Richard Henry "Mickey" Denning, Sr. on May 3, 1941 in East Peoria. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1998 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard H. Denning, Jr.; one daughter, Judy A. Andrews; and one brother.
Surviving are three granddaughters, Dawn (Scott) Franke of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Darcy (Jeff) Gossett of DuQuoin, and Annette (Chuck) Tate of Pekin; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Edward R. Smith of Ipava and Frederick Smith of East Peoria.
A homemaker, she was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
She was a member of TOPS.
She enjoyed playing pinochle and traveling.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2005at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Elder Clayton Denning will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
