He was born October 12, 1963 in Pekin to James Franklin and Marcia Lenora (Mann) Pryor, Sr. They preceded him in death.
Surviving are his daughter, Johannah (Derek Goodwin) Pryor of Manito; one granddaughter, Stella Goodwin of Manito; the mother of his daughter and dear friend, Melinda (Tracy) Ball of Pekin; one brother, John Pryor of Independence, Missouri; three sisters, Terri (Robert) Vaupel of Pekin, Lori Smith of Litchfield, Illinois and Nancy (Craig) Hurley of Heber Springs, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews and his beloved family dog, Izzy.
Jim had a strong work ethic, working for Superior (now known as SC2) for 30 years as a painter and material handler and at Broadway Liquors for 20 years, where he was well-known and engaged with customers with his unique sense of humor.
He was a popular guy and loved spending time with family but also hoped to one day find solitude in a cabin in the woods. Jim enjoyed being in nature and hiking, grilling out, going to breakfast and experimenting with food in the kitchen. He was a horror and thriller reader with a vast library, liked to watch television and movies and was in a local bowling league.
No services will be held. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Memorial donations may be given to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 TAPS Lane, Pekin, Illinois 61554.
