Jacob Wayne Schuck

Born July 24, 1993 in Pekin, he was the son of William LeRoy and D. Christine (Williams) Schuck.

Surviving are his parents, Bill and Christy Schuck of Athens, Tennessee; one sister, Ashley (Justin) Starcevich of Athens; one nephew, Garrett Wayne Starcevich of Athens; his maternal grandmother, Linda Williams of Pekin; five aunts, Cary Williams of Pekin, Kim (Todd) Fuller of Manito, Virginia Rollings of Oregon, Devon (Mike) Matheny of California and Rachel Hedrick of Florida; two uncles, Chuck Schuck of Millington, Tennessee and Jerry (Sharon) Hedrick of East Peoria many cousins, including Paige “Paiger” Wiker and Noah and Ellie.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gary Wayne Williams and his paternal grandparents, LeRoy and Shirley Schuck.

Jake worked for Ace Hardware in Pekin since March of 2011, last working on November 21st.

He loved hunting, fishing and NASCAR. He had a great interest in trucks and always looked forward to going to the Truckers Jamboree at the I80 Truck Stop each year. He was a skilled mechanic who could fix or figure out any problem. He was excited, and working hard to move to Tennessee with his family and start a new adventure in life.

Jake had a quiet and strong faith in Jesus Christ and attended North Parkway Assembly of God in Pekin for many years. He enjoyed listening to the Unashamed podcast whenever traveling and discussing his Christian faith. In earlier years he loved being a part of Royal Rangers at church. Jake was a selfless person and was known to put others first. He had a nurturing personality, was a protector of all living things, and especially had a love for his four cats. He loved to laugh and enjoyed being with family and playing card games together.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chuck Grogan will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Niota, Tennessee.
