Greg was born on March 12, 1957 in Galesburg to Richard B. and Pat (Varner) Rose, he married Stacie Herron on February 8, 1995 in Nevada. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jared (Melissa) Rose of Texas and Josh Rose of New Mexico; two sisters, Judy Blagden, formerly of Canton and Rene’e (Jim) Gage of Canton; one brother, Jeff (Lisa) Rose of Peoria; one brother-in-law, Gordon (Stephanie) Herron of Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews, and one great-great niece.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Pam, and one brother-in-law Dennis Blagden.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran.
He had worked as an electrician and operator at Aventine, retiring in 2013.
A homebody, Greg was very passionate about his yard and gardens. He always knew just how to make his wife laugh and loved annual trips to Gulf Shores, Alabama together. He also enjoyed attending family get-togethers, especially when it involved fishing, and reading books by Tom Clancy and Vince Flynn. Greg never knew a stranger.
A gathering of remembrance will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024 at Sunset Hills Eatery in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
