Everett H Jordan

GLASFORD ~ Everett H. Jordan, 91, of Glasford, died at 11:56 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009 in Pekin.Born April 8, 1918 in Fulton County to Daniel and Gladys E. (Clark) Jordan, he married Barbara J. Clifford on March 15, 1952 in Peoria. She survives.Also surviving are four daughters, Sandra G. (Jerry) Martin of Dallas, Texas, Linda M. Jordan Smith of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Vickie L. Long of Chillicothe and Darlene J. (Garland) York of Pekin; one son, William A. (Kathy) Jordan of Peoria; twenty-four grandchildren; sixty-five great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty Wagner of Peoria. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death his parents; three sons, Robert LeRoy Jordan, Harold Dale Jordan and Everett Harold Jordan, Jr.; six grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters.Everett worked for LeTourneau Westinghouse in Peoria as a machine operator, retiring from WABCO in September of 1981 with 39 years of service.His hobbies and interests included fishing, cooking, gardening and dancing. He was a jack of all trades who enjoyed working at all times.His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2009 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. David Carrington will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral at the chapel. Burial will be in Kingston Mines Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
