Born November 14, 1940, he was the son of Walter W. and Florence M. (White) Zimmerman.
Surviving are one son, Erich (Jennifer) Zimmerman of Pekin, one granddaughter, Emma Zimmerman of Chicago; two step-grandchildren, Anthony Petrone, Jr. and Tyler Petrone, both of Pekin; one brother, James Zimmerman of Trivoli and one sister, Janet Siemens of Alberta, Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael Zimmerman.
David worked in manufacturing at Caterpillar, Inc. in Pontiac, retiring in 2003.
He was very patriotic. He also raised, bred and trained horses and dogs.
His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
