Born April 12, 1947 in Grayville to Edwin and Helen (Frances) Driggers, he married Linda Vann on December 27, 1963 in Carmi. She survives.
Also surviving are four children, David (Jen) Driggers, Jr. of Green Valley, Darrell “Duane” Driggers of East Peoria, Derek (Teri) Driggers of Gilbert, Iowa and Dericka Roberts of Metamora; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two siblings, Donald (Pat) Driggers of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Debbie (Bill) Dill of Keensburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant sister and one brother, Darrell “Dee” Driggers.
Dan was a machine repairman at Caterpillar, Inc. before retiring in 2000.
He loved doing carpenter work with his son, reading the Bible and watching his grandkids play sports. Dan was an active dad and grandfather, always teaching something instead of doing something for you. He was always helping others and would give you the shirt off his back.
Dan was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as a longtime Deacon and Trustee. He also drove in the bus ministry for many years and loved spreading God’s word.
A memorial visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Faith Baptist Church in Pekin, where his memorial service will immediately follow. Kenneth Seest will officiate. A fellowship meal will follow the service at the church. Cremation had been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
