Born September 16, 1931 in La Center, Kentucky to Jamie M. and Mary L. (Kuykendall) Scott, he married Dorothy Lillian Scarsdale. They later divorced. He then married Betty Louise Sies on July 3, 1976 in North Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Donna Freeman of Pekin, Mark (Liz) Scott of Snoqualmie, Washington and Patti Moehle of Washington, Illinois; nine grandchildren, including Samantha Nicole, whom they raised; many great-grandchildren and one sister, June (Jon) Bell of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Lewis Scott and Christopher Sies and two siblings, Jimmie Scott and Alice Kay Butterfield.
Bobby was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
A fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Bobby took great pride in maintaining his yard and loved to tinker. He made all his own landscaping blocks for his landscape borders and enjoyed bowling, where he met his wife, Betty. Pappy was also a collector of Avon bottles and Mickey Mouse merchandise.
Bobby had worked in shipping and receiving at Caterpillar, Inc. in Morton for 45 years before retiring in 1996. He was a former member of the UAW Local 974 in East Peoria.
He was a longtime member of Pekin First Church of the Nazarene, where he helped in the Preschool Children’s Church.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Pekin First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Military rites will be provided by the United States Marine Corps.
