Born November 7, 1945 in Pekin to William “Bill” Warren and Doris (Hull) Goodin, she married Daryl Philip Jackson on December 19, 1964 in Pekin. He died September 22, 2006 in Marquette Heights. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Garry Goodin, Glynn Goodin and Scott Goodin.
Surviving are two daughters, Laura “Lori” (Daryl) Dagit of Pekin and Kelley (Richard) Ward of East Peoria; five grandchildren, Tabitha (Trent) Reeise, Gabrielle (Jason Howell) Dagit, Abigail Dagit, Emily (Joe) Kelch and Elizabeth (Shane) Markham; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; one sister, Janie Spelbring of Marquette Heights and two brothers, Bob (Kathy) Goodin of Marquette Heights and Steve (Debbie) Goodin of Pekin.
Billie had worked as a waitress at her grandmother’s restaurant the Court Café in Pekin. She later worked at the South Pekin Dinning Car and worked in sales. She also ran her home daycare where she was fondly referred to as “Grandma Billie” by the children she cared for.
Earlier in life, she was a member of the North Pekin/Marquette Heights Mothers Club Bowling Leagues. Billie was also a Honda Mama and could be found riding her scooter around Marquette Heights with a group of mothers. She was known in her neighborhood for the cans of pop she would pass out on Halloween night. She enjoyed boating, camping and fishing on the weekends. Billie also had a knack for remodeling, her specialty was staining. Most of all she loved the many large family trips taken up to Wisconsin.
Billie was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Pekin.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Daniel Bishop will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
