Born April 23, 1984 in Wayne, Nebraska to Rev. Mark A. and Debra “Deb” (Howard) Miller, she married Nicholas “Nick” Canopy on September 25, 2020 in Hopedale. He survives.
Also surviving are her parents of Springfield; one daughter, Brinley Meyer of Pekin; one son, Waylon Canopy of Pekin; three brothers, Adam (Rebecca) Miller of Pekin, Aaron (Courtney) Miller of Mont Belvieu, Texas and Christopher Miller of Minneola, Florida and her maternal grandparents, Rufus and Caroline Howard of Kokomo, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert L. and Harriet Joyce (Hyman) Miller.
Bethany was a member of Laborers Local 362 in Bloomington and last worked at the North Central Labor Health and Welfare Office. She previously worked many years as a certified nursing assistant for OSF Healthcare.
She was devoted to her family and loved baking, gardening and crafting. She also enjoyed camping and traveling.
A member of St. John’s (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley, she was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 711 Court Street in Pekin. Pastor Daniel J. Bishop and Pastor Chris Sansom will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, and also from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church in Pekin. Burial will be in Orendorff Cemetery in Hopedale.
