He was born May 16, 1945 in Peoria to Clarke A. and Betty A. (Mitchell) Timerman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are one son, Gregory (Kimberlee) Timerman of Metamora; one daughter, Cherise (Dan) Bush of Chadwick; six grandchildren, Hattie Timerman, Dillon Rogers, Dalton Rogers, Daisy Rogers, David Lohnes and Daniel Lohnes; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Roberta Ellis of Creve Coeur.
Al was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army.
He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Post #50 in Pekin. He was also a member of Deer Creek American Legion Post #1276, Creve Coeur V.F.W. Post 4835, where he served as commander for six years and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #265 in Peoria. He also had served as past president of Tazewell Military Rites Team in Tremont.
Al had worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Peoria for 17 years before retiring in 1993.
He enjoyed being outdoors, boating and fishing.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Elder Ken Hiles will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
