A private service will be held for the family officiated by Rev. Donnie Stuart and Rev. John Vaughn.
He was born on June 4, 1929 to the late Edgar McKee and Ela Burney McKee in the Allen Community of Copiah County, Mississippi. Alfred proudly served our country while in the Navy. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi and worked for 31 years at Shell Oil Company as accounting supervisor. In addition, Alfred was ordained at First Baptist Church of Kenner in Louisiana, going on to serve as Deacon at several churches, including First Baptist Church of Pearl. The Lord was first and foremost in his life, and he took his Faith very seriously. After retiring at the age of 57, he stayed active in Church and enjoyed gardening, outdoor cooking, and fishing in the small lake by his log cabin in the woods. However, most important was his belief that he is saved by Grace, which is an unmerited gift from God, through belief, faith, and trust in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way to salvation and eternal life in Heaven. Alfred had been a member of Crossroads Baptist Church for the past 14 years.
In addition to his parents, preceding him in death is his loving wife of over 50 years, Carolyn Kyzar McKee; grandchild, Bethany McKee; as well as several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his son, Brian Thomas McKee (Patricia Lynn McKee); daughter, Marcia Lynn Purvis (Marvin Dale Purvis); grandchildren, Connor, Tyler, Colton, and Drew; sisters, Ruth Crosby and Linda Lee; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Alfred will be so deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Perpetual Missions Fund through Crossroads Baptist Church, 104 Crossroads Road, Pelahatchie, Mississippi 39145.
