Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00pm, Friday, January 2, 2014 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Rosary services will follow at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, January 3, 2014 at the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Jackson, with interment in Pearson Cemetery in Pearl.
Mr. Macke was a faithful member of St. Peter Cathedral since 1951 and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus John T. Savage Council #848.
He retired after 60 years in sales in confections and food brokerage.
He was preceded in death by his son, Sylvester E. Macke, III.
Survivors include his children, Brian J. Macke, Michael F. Macke, Sylvia Macke McGowan, Edward Macke, Sean A. Macke and James A. Macke; their mother, Anne Macke; brother, Jack Macke; sister, Anne Mary Biggs; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund for St. Peter Cathedral.
