The family will hold a private service.
She was born on November 11, 1955 to the late George Calvin Simmons and Louise Andrews Simmons in Greenville, Mississippi. Shirley worked for several years as a TSA agent and truly had a zest for life. She enjoyed the little things, like sitting on the porch, coffee in hand, watching the birds and spending time with her close-knit family, cracking them up with her wicked sense of humor. Shirley was funny as all get out, even when she wasn't trying to be and had a radiant spirit. She had a passion for living life and seeing the world. Her voyages even took her overseas, including London, France, and possibly her most favorite, India, where she was absolutely awestruck by the Taj Mahal. An avid traveler, Shirley would strike out on an adventure to add to her passport whether she knew the language of her destination country or not. She lived for experiences and having her family by her side, always anxious for them to hurry to get their passport together or their plans finalized to join her.
Shirley is survived by her son, Clint Jones (Angel); daughter, Stacy Jones; grandchildren, Lydia Jones and Matthew Jones; and beloved feline companion, Sabrina.
