Visitation will be held at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, followed by burial at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
She was born on January 28, 1947, in Moss Point, Mississippi to the late Edward McNeely, Jr and Teresa Passingham McNeely. Sandra was an incredibly talented baker and cake decorator and proudly owned The Cake Shoppe in Brandon for several years. Affectionately known as “The Cake Lady,” she loved to hear the glowing feedback from her customers, many of whom became dear friends over the years. No matter where she went or who she met, she almost always made a connection of a wedding or birthday cake she had made for them or their family.
Sandra also enjoyed cooking, reading, and watching birds, especially the cardinals that visited her feeders. She was devoted to her children and family, and their happiness meant the world to her. She was a truly kind and gentle lady who always put others before herself. She will so dearly be missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Brian McNeely and Greg McNeely.
Sandra is survived by her sons, Tony Groover (Shelly) and Tim Groover (Kelli); daughter, Jennifer Sanders (Mark); brother, Keith McNeely (Karen); sister, Pat McNeely; grandchildren, Madeline Woods (Tanner), Nicholas Groover (Rigell), Hayden Groover, Ben Sanders, Alayna Groover, Cole Groover, and Fox Groover; and great-granddaughter, Neely Groover.
